THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

I WAS WEARING:

TOP | Free People
JEANS | *Courtesy of 7 for All Mankind
BOOTS | *Courtesy of Missguided
RINGS | H&M
BAG | Vintage

Just as the title suggests, this outfit was taken while strolling around downtown. It's only the beginning of spring, so jeans and a faux fur coat are still ideal, don't you think? There are way too many outfits that I have an idea of putting together, but in the end do not work out because I am so small. This was one of those outfits. Covered up, but not enough to overwhelm me, thanks to this jacket. The cropped structure fits just above my waist so my legs are shown at full force (does that make sense?). Either way, I am starting to really hate this heat. Is it hot where you live already?

LAID-BACK

Thursday, April 09, 2015

Photos by Henry Young

I WAS WEARING:
PONCHO | L.A. Hearts at PacSun
SHORTS | Bullhead Denim at PacSun
TOP | Armani
SHOES | Cathy Jean (old)
HAT | (stolen from Divani!)

For this shoot, I collaborated with Divani, who is actually a YouTuber from Tijuana, Mexico! I was excited, yet a bit nervous when she first contacted me so we could get together, but she's honestly one of the sweetest girls I've ever met! I love that I could meet someone close enough so we could do this (and hopefully do some more shooting in the future!), and it's a very interesting dynamic because I write blogs and she makes videos mainly, so I can't wait to see where this might take us looking forward! Anyway, on to the outfits! As soon as I saw this poncho, I knew it had to be mine. I am short, so I knew I had to style it with some shorts and wedges that showed off my feet to make my legs look longer..if that makes sense! Haha. While at the location we were shooting, Divani had a ton of cute hats she had in her bag, so she let me borrow one of hers. What did you think of our looks? We were inspired by Coachella, even though we're totally missing it this weekend (wahhh)! Are you going?

PLAID BLOUSE | Gypsy Warrior for PacSun
TOP | Gypsy Warrior for PacSun
SHORTS | Brandy Melville
SHOES | PacSun

Welcome Monday! Well, technically, almost Tuesday. Can you believe it's even April already? I didn't even have time to plan a super cool April Fools joke (though I tried- and failed)! Did you trick anyone this year? It feels like it has been a while since Alex has shot an outfit for me, and it kind of felt nostalgic lol. There wasn't much thought to the outfit...until I looked up the links to the PacSun items above and realized that they styled it ALMOST THE SAME WAY I DID (insert crying emoji here). Ugh. And I thought I looked chic. Booohooooo. Anywayzzzzz, grab these pieces by Gypsy Warrior at PacSun stores nationwide, as well as online on www.pacsun.com! Peace and love my little babiessss xxxx

AS THE SUN SETS

Wednesday, April 01, 2015

I WAS WEARING:
TOP | Forever 21
SKORT | Zara
DENIM BUTTON-UP | Forever 21
SUNNIES | Ray-Ban

BAG | *Courtesy of MMS Design Studio

I have come to realize that I have no body shape- I am completely rectangular (insert crying emoji here), and something that bothers me are my broad shoulders. I apparently didn't see that until I saw these pictures, and even though they make me even more self-conscious, there's little I can do about it now except try to pick out clothing that takes away from those features. I know that this top may not completely agree with that last statement, but the reason it makes sense at the same time is because of the style of the top- the twisting and ruching also helps conceal problem areas and brings more attention to certain parts of the top. Does that make sense? I hope it does! I decided to make the look more "casual" by tying a button up around my waist.

Saturday night. Watching movies, night in, almost calling it a night. I'm watching Twilight for what seems the billionth time in my life, and I can't wait to dive into bed without having to set an alarm for tomorrow. Granted, this will be published Sunday morning, I just felt the need to desperately tell you about my exciting weekend beforehand. Anyway, I bring you an outfit I wore about two weekends ago, featuring this uber chic lace top from Lulu*s. I am not going to Coachella this year, but I'd imagine that this particular piece would be the first I'd pack- gorgeous, right? Wear it with denim cut offs like myself, or dress them up with a mid-length skirt, or skinny jeans!

Have a great rest of this weekend and don't forget to follow me on IG @esmirnatapia & Snapchat@ esmirna_tapia!

Shelly's Way:

I think everyone is semi (or very much) festival inspired with their posts lately, and this is no different. I have teamed up with the uber gorg Shelly Stuckman of the blog, Arizona Girl, to bring you a how-to in styling a fringe jacket! I found mine at Nordstrom, but it was a bit too big in the end (wahh). In the beginning, I thought I would have styled it completely different than how I actually did, but it gave the typical Coachella-themed look a twist- don't you think? What I like about any fringe jacket is that they can be so versatile and go with anything from a LBD, to a crop top and denim cut-offs! Endless possibilities!

Ready to give the fringe jacket a try? Head over to Shelly's blog to get more details on how she accessorized her outfit! And don't forget to tag us on Instagram @esmirnatapia & @shellystuckman to show us how YOU wore your fringe piece!
